Improving quality learning opportunities for adults

Support adults at risk of exclusion by providing nonformal education through art, sports training, and guidance as a way of preventing social exclusion.

About our project

Afrodita is a project funded by the European Union that offers an opportunity for disadvantaged adults from 4 EU countries (Italy, Greece, Spain, and Germany) to emancipate themselves through artistic and sportive activities, improving their key competencies required by the contemporary multicultural European society.

Our goals

Providing support to adults at risk of exclusion through non-formal education

Ensuring active participation by building cooperation between civil society, education, sports organizations, local authorities, and the private sector

Empowering the role of social workers, letting them deal with diversity in a non-formal learning environment

Involve the wider community in the promotion of EU strategies for Life-Long Learning and social inclusion of disadvantaged adult learners

The priority of the Afrodita project is horizontal inclusion and diversity in all fields of education, training, youth, and sport, aimed to facilitate the social integration of adults in any disadvantaged situation (from a cultural, economic, educational, or social perspective).

Outputs

Afrodita’s training tools will boost participants’ empowerment and self-esteem, and improve their key competences, thus enhance their employability and integration. We have the ambition of being an example at an European level, since the results will affect four different countries, and our purpose is to encourage transantional collaboration, communication and networking in the sector of Adult Education.
